I worked side by side with Dwain for about 5 years. We were both around 20 years old at that time and had both just started our careers at the old Champion Mill in Courtland. We spent many days together and had loads of fun though those years. He was a good guy and always ready to help in any way he could. I've thought about him often through the years. May he rest in peace. Praying for the comfort only Jesus can provide in times like these for all of Dwain's family.

Dear Brother Hamner's family, I'm sorry to read of your loved one's passing, and may all find comfort in our Lord's word during this time of sadness. In John 11:23-26, “Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” The above scripture is a wonderful promise from our Lord Jesus, and those who have passed on are now in the care of our Lord God, who has shown his love for us through his Beloved Son. I'm very sorry of the passing of Dwain. I worked with Dwain at the Champion Canton paper mill. Dwain was the #20 Paper Machine Manager. Dwain was a good man and showed good leadership. Jack Warren #20 PM Shift Manager

To the family of Dwain, I am so very sorry to hear of Dwain's passing, he was a special person to me because he was my cousin but, also, he was special to our family for the way he cared for my Dad (Troy). My brother (Scott) and sister (Mandi) were often treated to the interactions between the two and it never failed to bring a smile to our lips. Playing golf with the two of them always yielded some kind of story that needed to be retold later (usually retold many times!). Separately, I had both of them admit to me that the other was a good buddy but a lousy golfer. I will miss Dwain's ready smile and big laugh...I am thankful for Dwain, sad he is gone but happy he is with the Lord. With our Thoughts & Prayers, Phillip Hamner & Family PS. I've included the only picture I have of Dwain and Dad...I'm sure that Dwain is getting ready to talk in the middle of Dad's backswing.
