Obituary of Carolyn E. Boswell

Carolyn Eugenia Herrod Boswell, 84, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away June 4, 2026, at her residence. Carolyn was born on June 18, 1941. She was a native of Florence, AL until her parents divorced then she moved to Memphis and learned the love of antiques from her mother who owned a store in Florence and later Memphis, where she met her husband, Jerry Boswell. They lived in Memphis and had one son, Brian David Boswell. Her father James Herrod was a Lock Operator on the Joe Wheeler Lock for the Army. She moved to Tennessee after her husband’s death with her companion Darrell. He promised Jerry he would take care of her and kept true to his word until his death a few years later. Carolyn was Ila Beckman’s neighbor and friend for over thirty years. She enjoyed taking care of her dog Samatha, sitting with the elderly, arranging silk flowers, watching Westerns, and eating hamburgers. She was a breast cancer survivor. Carolyn was a feisty little lady with a heart of gold. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held graveside at 1:00 P.M. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence with Bro. Tim Grigsby officiating. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities after the graveside service.
