Obituary of Allison Sheleigh Johnson

Allison “Shelly” Johnson, age 46, of Westpoint, TN, passed away May 16, 2026, following a year and a half battle with cancer. She attended Trinity Episcopal Church in Florence, AL. Shelly is survived by her wife Sonya Johnson; (3) daughters Sydney Stepp, Sam Stepp, Edee Johnson; parents Tim & Connie Lamprecht of St. Joseph, TN; sister & brother-in-law Jessica & Lance Gray & niece Lena Gray of Greenhill, AL; and Godparents Jeff & Lorie Noblit of Loretto, TN. She is also survived by a large extended family & friends. Shelly was a teacher most recently at E.O. Coffman Middle School, former Principal & Teacher at Loretto Sacred Heart Catholic School, and former teacher at Huntsville City Schools. She enjoyed gardening, bicycling, camping, kayaking, softball, playing guitar, cross stitching, drawing, and painting. Mostly, she LOVED teaching and spending time with her family & friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home with the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Florence, AL with Rev. Callie Plunket-Brewton, Rev. Jake Andrews, and The Venerable Catherine Schiesz, Archdeacon officiating. The casket will lie in state from 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. at the church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jude Thomas, Luke Thomas, Sam Methvin, Michael Sandrell, Joey Telker, and John Paul Littrell. At Shelly’s request: donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Emily Marks.
