Mary Ruth McMurtrey Moore, 96, of Florence, AL, passed away January 30, 2026, surrounded by family. Mary was retired from J.C. Penney’s Department Store and was a member of Stutts Road Church of Christ.
Mary is survived by:
Sons: Michael Herston (Connie), Jeffery Moore, and Richard Moore (Tammie)
Sister: Doris Clanton
Grandchildren: Keith Herston, Casey Herston, Skylar Moore, and Destin Moore
(6) Great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by:
Parents: Floyd E. McMurtrey and Mamie N. Butler McMurtrey
Husband: Alford Moore
Brother: Miley McMurtrey
Sister: Hazel Phillips
Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2026, from 1:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Tim Grigsby officiating. Burial will be in Canerday Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keith Herston, Casey Herston, Shannon Clanton, Tim Clanton, Skylar Moore, and Destin Moore.
