Danny Richardson was born on November 14, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Loretto High School in 1968, as Salutatorian. He received undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Tennessee at Martin, Summa Cum Laude. He worked at Western State Hospital in Bolivar, Tennessee, supervising the Children and Youth Counseling Program. It was there that he met and married his best friend, Roberta Rauch. They moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1988. He spent his career helping people who were mentally ill or suffering from poverty. He felt especially compelled to feed hungry children. His motto was, “No child should go hungry.” He was a long-time Sunday School teacher. In 2022, they moved to Killen, AL, to retire. He was passionate about organic gardening, and he kept bees. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Richardson, a brother Carlos Richardson, and nephews Mark Peters and Allen Richardson. He is survived by his wife, Roberta, a sister Barbara Brown, a brother Mickey Richardson (Layne), sister-in-law Marilyn Rauch and nieces and nephews Beverly Peters, Scott Peters, Brett Peters (Anna), Mike Richardson (Cindy Webb), Brian Richardson (Charlotte) and Jake Richardson (Becky Shamp), several great-nieces and nephews.
