I knew Aunt Betty my entire life. She was a second mother to me. She was a teacher and source of comfort and support. I ran away from home. Mom always knew where I ran to. Memories of sweet potato slips, canning tomatoes, cutting corn, eating watermelon, and delicious grapes at her house are some of the deepest and sweetest memories I have.
Janet and Gerald were basically our next door siblings. We all worked together, played together and got in trouble together. Aunt Betty was always there for us.
Aunt Betty was an artist I remember her painting pink lady and blue boy. I was engrossed watching her paint. I still have my Rogher high school Cheerleader. It's a priced precious gift.
I will miss My Aunt Betty and the comfort of knowing she was just across the woods. My love to Janet, Gerald, Andrea and all the rest who knew and cared for her.
