Obituary of Penny Smith Henkel

Penny Lisa Smith Henkel, 64, of Loretto, TN, passed away on March 30, 2025, at the favorite place of her & her late husband-their cabin. Penny was passionate about Quilting and Diamond Painting. She loved being with her family and friends. Penny had a passion for Christmas and a deep love for music. Penny was of the Christian faith and was a godly woman. She loved her grandbabies dearly ! Penny was preceded in death by: Husband: Anthony “Bud” Henkel Father: Robert Smith Brother: Russell Smith She is survived by: Daughter: Nakea Townsend and husband Tommy “Opie” Townsend Son: Josh Henkel and wife Cassie Farr Henkel Granddaughters: Tyanna Townsend, Lillian Townsend, and Dakota Henkel Grandson: Jaxton Hunter Henkel Mother: Margaret Duke Smith Brother: Nathan Smith Sister: Amy Crunk Visitation will be Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Josh Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Loretto Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jaxton Henkel, Tim Walters, Tony Beckman, Kevin Quillen, Kolton Hallmark, Cory Daniel, Evan Dunn, and Nathan Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Quillen, Jeff Quillen, James “Jim” Gibbs, and Larry Bradley.
