He had several different hobbies and interests over the years, but he especially enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, hunting and fishing, reading on many different subjects and watching a good movie. Fox hunting was a large part of his life from his earliest years and brought some of his most enjoyable memories. Family gatherings for the holidays, birthdays, or any chance to get together were very special to him and all meals always began with a prayer. Brother Pigg was a Gospel Preacher and a devout Christian who as a young man studied at IBC (Heritage Christian University). In his lifetime he married many couples and also baptized numerous souls in the name of Christ. He was very proud of the fact that many of his children and grandchildren were included in that number. He touched many lives and different churches in his time here on earth and those were important things that he often talked about when asked about his life. No church was more important to him than the Iron City Church of Christ where with his wife and children he devoted so much of his time and efforts in God’s work. He considered the members there not only his dear friends, but they were family as well. Thanks to all of the unnamed friends, family and caregivers for your thoughts, prayers, cards, meals and support over the past few weeks and months. Your kindness means more than words can express.
The family would also like to thank for everything during this time:
The staff of Amedisys Health Care
The Doctors, nurses and staff of the North Alabama Medical Center
The Staff of Greenhill Funeral Home
