Skeeter and I had a tradition that started after my daddy passed away. Daddy and Skeeter were more than brothers, they were best friends. So, I guess Skeeter inherited my daddy's Alabama football text list because in Dec 2015 out of the blue I get a text from him...ROLL TIDE!!! That was the start of our weekly texting during football season for the next 7 years. Most were just one or 2 words, our favorites were TOUCHDOWN or ROLL TIDE, every now and then there may have been an adjective thrown in but I'll keep that part of the memory! Every text made me smile and brought back memories of hot tamales, homemade chili and family. I'm not sure who will inherit Skeeter's Alabama football texting list but I'll keep cheering them on, maybe a little louder in the hope he can hear me from Heaven.
