Earl Everett Williams, Sr., 81, of Little Rock, AR and Gulfport, MS, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock, AR, after an extended illness. Mr. Williams was born October 30, 1927, and a native of Lawrence County, TN. He was the owner of Cummings X-Ray Company and served on the USS Wallace L. Lind ship in 1945-46. He was a member of the VFW Post 9095 in Little Rock, American Legion Post 13 in Hot Springs, 40-8 Voiture 182 and F.O.E in Little Rock, and DAV in Gulfport, MS. His parents were the late Robert Jefferson and Fanney Shook Williams. He was also preceded in death by his wife Maxine Williams; three sisters: Camilla Barnicle, Theresa Shelton, and Ellene Williams. Survivors include three sons: T. R. Williams and wife Conni of Bonnertown, TN; Earl Williams, Jr., and wife Tina of Memphis, TN; James Williams and wife Shelly of Front Royal, VA; three daughters: Delilah Forsyth of Muscle Shoals, AL; Darlene Nuss and husband Jim of St. Joseph, TN; Martha Troilo of Palm Springs, CA. Nine grandchildren: Ellese Garrie of Columbia, TN, Laurie Williams of Hot Springs, AR, Bill White of Loretto, TN, James Sloan (J.J.) Williams of Hot Springs, AR, Shannon Flatt of Leoma, TN, Ashley and Alyssa Williams of Memphis, TN, Kristen Williams of Loretto, TN, Lee Williams of Little Rock, AR. Six Great-Grandchildren: Alexis and Hallie Oliver of Hot Springs, AR, Katelyne Garrie and Kyla Rohling of Columbia, TN, Jaelyn Balentine and Ashlyn Dale of Loretto, TN. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the VFW Post 9095 in Little Rock at 3:00pm . The funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Second Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Lawrence County, TN, with T. R. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Second Creek Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00-11:00am at the church. Greenhill Funeral Home, Florence, AL, is in charge of all arrangements.
