Obituary of Gerald Holden

Gerald Dee Holden, 69, of Florence, died April 2, 2009, at ECM Hospital in Florence. He was a member of Greenhill First Baptist Church, Aluminum Workers Local 200, and American Legion Post l46. He was a retired forklift operator for Reynolds Alloys. Survivors include: Wife: Carole Springer Holden Mother: Flossie Lee Holden Daughter: Kimberly Landers and husband Michael - Greenhill Brothers: Glen Holden and wife Jo - Greenhill Randell Holden and wife Judi - Florence Sister: Pat Spires and husband Larry - Florence Grandchildren: Jordon and Holleigh Landers Preceded in death by his father, Edward Franklin Holden. Visitation will be Friday starting at 5:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Bro. Gregg Woodard officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Pallbearers: Harold Danley, Boyd Gist, Jimmy Fowlkes, Kent Holden, Josh Holden, and Chris Jones. The family would like to extend special thanks to Drs. Robert Mann, Robert Bailey, Anthony Kalliath, Edsel Holden, II, and nurses on second floor and ICU at ECM Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Greenhill Funeral Home is directing.
