James Hamilton “Jim” Hollis, 78, of Florence, AL, passed away April 18, 2017 at his home. Mr. Hollis was retired from Reynolds Metals Company and was a United States Army Veteran. He attended Greenhill United Methodist Church. Mr. Hollis is survived by: Wife: Marvolyn Liles Hollis Son: James (Jimmy) Hollis of Greenhill Daughter: Deb. D. Hollis Brown of Birmingham Sisters: Brenda Holmes, Gail Williams, & Norma Johnson He was preceded in death by his parents, Van Hamilton Hollis and Geneva Inez Belew Hollis. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 5-8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Mark Woodruff and Bro. Jerry Hastings officiating. Burial will be in Emmaline Stutts Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry McMurtrey, J.J. Johnson, Robert Coats, Dale Gist, Wayne Springer, and Joe Bogle. Honorary pallbearers will be Gilbert Borden and R.T. Arnett The family would like to thank Dr. David Hollis, Dr. Felix Morris, and Amedisys Hospice for their special care of Jim. Greenhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
